Time To Order Your 50th Anniversary BRBC Jerseys & Accessories
The deadline has been extended to March 28th, but time is running out.

We cannot place orders for additional jerseys unless, we meet the quotas established by our vendor. That means we need a minimum of 15 pieces of an item to place an order for that item. What does it take to get there? 15 men’s jerseys any size, 15 women’s jerseys any size, etc.

Don’t miss out, get your pre-order in now! Quite possibly this is the last time the club will order pieces for the 50th anniversary kit.

RED BUG HILL CHALLENGE – May 10, 2014. This event, held in memory of Marie & Mike Rourke’s son Jordy, raises money for Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans (New Orleans serves the Baton Rouge area). In 2013 over $25,000.00 was raised for children in Louisiana with Spina Bifida.

The events include bike rides of 60, 40, 20, and 5 miles; a 5K trail run, and a 1-mile fun run. Everyone also has the option of taking the RED BUG HILL CHALLENGE, a timed event from the bottom to the top of the famous Red Bug Hill.

As in previous years, there will be a delicious lunch, music, and a raffle with many nice items, including a bicycle.

Please consider joining Marie & Mike for a fun day in the beautiful hills of the Felicianas!

Last input sessions for BREC’s Imagine your park:

Tues. March 18 – Monte Santo Park and Lovett Road Park
Thurs. March 20 – Independence Community Park (Main Library large meeting room)

BREC Imagine your park write-up: Every 10 years, BREC creates and implements a strategic plan to guide the progress of the system. Imagine Your Parks 2: Better Parks, Better Living will be implemented in 2015 and guide agency improvements through the year 2024.
The first Imagine Your Parks strategic plan is nearing completion and resulted in the transformation of an aging system into one that now features 12 new community parks, five dog parks, Liberty Lagoon Water Park, skateboard parks, fishing ponds, a new conservation area for hikers and nature lovers, improved playgrounds, a growing trails system, a mobile playground unit as well as renovated neighborhood parks and special use facilities.
BREC is also utilizing an online tool called MindMixer for people who aren’t able to attend the meetings or who would like to participate in all phases of the planning. More than 1,200 people have visited MindMixer so far and submitted more than 200 ideas regarding the future of the park system. MindMixer can be found at the following link: http://iyp2.mindmixer.com/ (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fiyp2.mindmixer.com%2F&h=CAQHRTJkA&s=1)
