About Baton Rouge Bicycle Club
The Baton Rouge Bicycle Club promotes
cycling, safety, education, and fitness for recreational and touring
cyclists. The club organizes weekly rides both in town and out of town,
for beginning and experienced riders. The club also participates in
local cycling advocacy for the benefit of members and public alike. The
club sponsors two annual events, the Baton Rouge Bike Club Spring
Century, held in May, and the Baton Rouge Bike Club Fall Century, held
in October.
Join the Baton Rouge Bicycle Club
Joining the club has many benefits, not the least of which is the convenience of reading the newsletter articles from the comfort of your own home. This year membership dues are $5/year per individual or $10/year per family. If you ride in our Spring or Fall Century this year, membership fees are waived and you are automatically enrolled as a club member.
Additionally, BRBC membership provides a benefit that we hope you never need, that being insurance coverage. As a member of BRBC, because of our affiliation with the League of American Bicyclists (LAB), we are able to purchase group insurance to cover liability for club activities (ride leaders and officers are covered), and medical coverage for club member participants. I hope that no member ever has another accident, but it's nice to know that there is help out there in case it is needed.
